What’s the biggest driver of climate change? It’s money.

89up worked with Sunrise Project campaign, Bank on our Future, to tell HSBC and Barclays Bank to stop greenwashing, and commit to ending their investment in fossil fuels. 

Our Studio team created an ongoing, hard hitting social content strategy targeting bank employees to challenge their bosses on this issue. 

We launched #BigBankDetox - an integrated PR and influencer campaign calling on consumers to switch from these banks to more ethical choices. 

Finally we secured full page print ads and online placements in the Financial Times to push HSBC to change their policy on coal at their next AGM, which succeeded in a public commitment to review that policy.
