Job Title: Account Director
Salary: £46,000-£50,000 + bonuses
Location: Central London
Basic Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 9am to 6pm GMT)

BACKGROUND
89up Europe's first impact agency. We campaign for great causes, build technology, tackle complex problems and inspire action. 89up was founded with a clear mission: to create a powerful integrated communications agency for the world’s most important causes. In the last eight years, we’ve become one of the Financial Times 1000 fastest growing companies in Europe in the last 2 years consecutively, won awards for agency of the year and for our client campaigns and delivered some of the biggest non-profit campaigns around the world. We are now in the top two specialist agencies for the non-profit sector globally.

From taking on the finance sector over investment in fossil fuels, to protecting biodiversity and the climate, and fighting poverty and hunger across the globe, we punch above our weight and wear our hearts on our sleeves.

We’re looking for a PR Account Director to join our multiple award winning PR team which includes those with big agency backgrounds, news anchor and newsroom backgrounds, editorial and journalistic excellence, and experience at leading charities and non-profits. Along with passionate, super smart grads and account execs.

Our PR team makes sure our campaigns make the headlines. Our Advocacy, Insights and Mobilisation (AIM) team delivers data-driven insights for impactful strategies to mobilise audiences; our Labs team builds innovative websites and bespoke advocacy tools to engage consumers and decision-makers; our Studio team crafts beautiful content from podcasts to animations.

The PR Account Director we are looking for will ideally have previous agency experience and have a thirst for knowledge as a generalist - able to stretch across various, often complex subject matters. From climate justice, ethical finance, and nature and biodiversity campaigns to health awareness and education, human rights and democracy, social justice and tech for good campaigns. From UK-focused PR campaigns to global, multi-stakeholder integrated campaigns. The person we are looking for needs to have an interest in or previous experience in corporate comms as well as experience/interest in working on more consumer-focused campaigns.
You should already have a healthy black book contacts consisting of national and specialist/trade media. Experience in political PR and campaigning is also beneficial.

We put a huge emphasis on training and promotions - with promotion and pay reviews twice a year. In 2022 to help combat the impact of inflation we gave a baseline pay increase of 10% across the board with bonuses and promotions on top. Some members of the team have been promoted twice in a single year. Unlike other agencies, all directors sit amongst their teams, on the same floor and keep their hands in on accounts. You will get unrivaled access to seniors with significant experience that’ll help you grow in the role and your careers. This is a company that is growing quickly, so there’s plenty of room for career development and no ceiling to progression
