The client

Port of London Authority:  look after the tidal Thames in London, helping the public and professionals with everything from up to date tidal levels, foreshore permits and filming licenses.

The challenge

The goal for the new website was to make it a modern, accessible and streamlined experience allowing users to browse and transact easily.

The new website needed to increase traffic to content-driven parts, provide up-to-date data, and have an optimised backend for easy content management experience.

The solution

Let's talk ->

The new platform is a Drupal multi-site, meaning three-websites-in-one.

The main PLA website is redesigned with a focus on simplicity for users, with a revised navigational system and automated alerts. The design approach balances clarity with a refreshed colour scheme, whilst staying aligned with the legacy brand.

A mobile app website was developed to enhance usability for mobile users, hosting most up-to-date river alerts and updates.

Active Thames is an independent sub-brand and website living within the PLA technical infrastructure.
