Major new climate change film TEN BILLION engages 89up for impact distribution
89up has been contracted by Oxford Film and Television to deliver the impact distribution of Ten Billion a new documentary feature film on climate change. Ten Billion is written and presented by one of the world’s leading scientists, Professor Stephen Emmott, and is a wake-up call to the scale of the planetary emergency we now find ourselves in as humans. The film is based on a show performed by Professor Emmott at the Royal Court Theatre, which subsequently became a book published by Penguin.
Oxford Film and Television have hired 89up alongside impact producer Jessica Edwards to produce a series of influencer screenings to engage key opinion formers including journalists and leading politicians, alongside a high-impact press and social media campaign.
Sashy Nathan, Director of Advocacy said:
“This is a major opportunity to place the scale of the challenge to humanity from environmental damage at the heart of the public debate in the run-up to the UN talks in Paris. This film is an incredibly powerful tool to focus interest on how our consumer habits drive environmental degradation.”
Ten Billion will be shown at the Curzon Soho and will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic on Saturday, 5 December 2015.
89up is a social impact agency that specialises in PR for charities and NGOs. The company was founded in 2009 and has 12 staff and 15 associates in London and Barcelona. Ends
