Founded by Nelson Mandela, The Elders is a group of global leaders that works together for peace, justice and human rights, and includes former heads of state and diplomats including Mary Robinson, Ban Ki-moon and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

The Elders asked 89up to design and develop a new website that would reflect the breadth and depth of their work.

89up’s Lab team undertook a complete overhaul of the existing information infrastructure and content to create easy access to information for The Elders’ core audiences. New content formats and visually engaging design better conveyed The Elders’ mission and work. 

The new site is optimised for mobile and social, and includes our page-builder functionality, allowing the Elders team to update content quickly and easily.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, 89up also worked with the Elders to produce a dedicated Covid-19 hub, bringing together insights and updates in relation to the crisis.
