Basic Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 9am to 6pm

Business Overview

89up is an award winning agency founded with a clear mission: to create a powerful integrated communications agency for the world's most important causes. We help the good guys achieve great things, whether they are charities, political campaigns or commercial businesses.

Description of the Role

We are looking for a digital account manager to join our social and content team. You will work directly with our roster of clients (and potential clients) to deliver outstanding digital campaigns as part of our wider integrated campaign offer. You will be responsible for the inception of intelligent digital marketing campaigns, client coordination and team leadership.

You will be a smart self-starter who can think on their feet and juggle multiple projects and client requests. You will work with account directors to ensure the team fully understands client briefs and goals, and be laser-focussed on achieving performance goals while maintaining the highest level of strategic and creative deployment. You will be a lover of data and generating insights to improve campaign performance. You will work closely with our Digital Director to identify audiences and targeting parameters, and be able to create robust reports for clients.

You will be responsible for planning and managing internal resources, budgets and project timelines. You will assist with writing proposals and budget creation (in response to brief) for social and digital campaigns. You will need to love giving clients data insights on campaign performance, account management, time management, and budgets, but also comfortable thinking big and creating conceptual solutions to client challenges.

We're looking for someone who thrives on working across a number of different projects and in an agile manner - someone happy to work on causes but equally comfortable pushing brands and products. Someone happy to work on ongoing clients; projects and new pitches. You will be innately interested in how digital solutions can play a part in the wider communications spectrum.

This really is a role that will allow you to explore your strengths in a multi-disciplinary, integrated communications environment. You will experience more exposure to senior team members (experts in a variety of fields who are on hand to offer masterclasses and mentoring), opportunities (especially within the integrated marketing mix - so you learn about other specialisms and try your hand at them), creativity and content creation (with a flat structure, everyone ideas are valued), to clients and client management. All of these things will arguably enable you to hone your talent, while broadening your skill-set and fast tracking your career progression, in a passionate, supportive and friendly environment.

More about us

Our team is made up of big agency players, journalists, data and digital innovators and production genius, giving non-profits and commercial clients a big agency experience with boutique agency dedication. We are unique in the field in that 20% of our team work in 89up Labs, a group of skilled technologists developing tools to make PR and social more effective.

Our stand out creative and campaigns are designed to affect change - whether that be behaviour, attitudes or policy. In 2019, 89up won PRMoments Boutique Agency of the Year award and was nominated for the Campaigns for Good awards; we delivered global coverage for the Toyota Mobility Foundation&'s $4,000,000 global challenge, won the UK consumer account for GoFundMe and ran PR campaigns for organisations from 38 Degrees, Reporters Without Borders and Best for Britain to Body Shop and Nesta. in 2019 we won a consumer and content creation brief from F-Secure, Europe&'s largest cyber-security company - and Mootral, a Swiss Agritech innovation firm, managing the global commercial launch of a natural feed supplement for cows that reduces methane emissions.

As well as securing client coverage, we make the news ourselves. 89up Think&'s report into Russian disinformation during the EU referendum was reported widely in the media including The Economist, Daily Mail, The Guardian, In October 2018, 89up&'s digital team spotted a new ‘fake news&' website spreading disinformation via targeted social media advertising on Facebook. The exposure of Mainstream Network saw coverage of the agency across the globe from the New York Times to The Guardian, TechCrunch, BBC, Time Magazine, FT, Wired...and it continues!

As a small agency, 89up punches above its weight in both winning big client accounts and also its impact in the world. So if you fancy joining a small, smart team with big ambitions - you will unquestionably get a number of benefits in return, which you would be far less likely to see in a big agency environment. Our base is at Tileyard Studios in King's Cross.
