Location: King’s Cross, London
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + bonuses + 5% pension + private sickness insurance

We need a Chief Technology Officer to deliver our incredible new piece of campaigning software, Start A Fire. Start A Fire has the potential to launch campaigns across the world to help good causes. We need you to lead a team to help us take our product from the current beta version to the best campaigning software anywhere on earth. This is a senior role within 89up.

About you:

  • a Python expert - you must love python
  • the CTO will need to be able to write a software specification
  • and the CTO will need strong project management skills to oversee the implementation of our software projects
  • the CTO will oversee other members of the web team including other developers and designers
  • the CTO role is client-facing, but you will have a great account team to rely on
  • our stack includes Python, Postgresql, SQLAlchemy, and Flask - we’d like to see evidence of knowledge here
  • email is an important function of Start A Fire - we want to see evidence you understand how email works
  • We’re not interested in academic qualifications - nice if you have - but ultimately we are really looking for a hard-core coder
  • good PostgreSQL experience
  • knowledge of at least one Python web framework useful but not essential
  • Strong HTML / CSS and JavaScript knowledge to help implement the front end of the site
  • Ideally, some understanding of the Facebook API is useful but not essential, knowledge of Drupal is also useful but not essential
  • familiar with Linux server environments and willing to support sysadmin
  • We’d really like someone who can come up with new feature ideas
  • Fix problems and spot bugs, agile working
